In the state budget presented by the Government of Chhattisgarh in 2021, a provision of Rs 5,700 crore was made to provide relief to the farmers through which Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana 2021 (Chhattisgarh Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana) was started in the state. Under this government scheme, farmers will be given an installment of Rs 10,000 per acre on their paddy and maize crops in installments. The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana (CG Mukhyamantri Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana) will also help the Central Government‘s dream of doubling farmers’ income by 2022.
Important information – Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has deposited an amount of 1500 crores in the account of 22 lakh farmers. This is the first installment to be given under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. The first installment has been paid by the Chief Minister on 21 May 2021. Under this scheme, Rs 5,597 crore is to be given to the farmers in 4 installments.

About 70 percent of the population in the state of Chhattisgarh is dependent on agriculture. As most of the area of the state is rainfed, due to seasonal adversity and increase in agricultural input costs, there is uncertainty in the income of the farm income and debt sufficiency, as a result, the inputs required for agricultural crop production like advanced seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, mechanization, and new agricultural technologies. They are not able to invest enough in “Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana” which has been implemented by the state government for agricultural input assistance to provide sufficient investment in agriculture and relief in installment costs.
The Kharif season paddy, maize, soybean, groundnut, sesame, pigeonpea, moong, urad, kulthi, ramatil, kodo, kutki, and rabi sugarcane crops have been included under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana.
Objective of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana
The main objective of the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana is to encourage farmers for crop production in the state.
- Increase in crop coverage, production and productivity.
- To increase the net income of farmers by reimbursing the card cost of the crop.
- Incentives for farmers to invest more in agriculture.
- Increase in agricultural sector participation in GDP by restoring agriculture as a profit making business.
Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana (Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana – RGKNY), the state government will exchange more than 22 lakh farmers in the state, which will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of farmers through DBT.

According to the guidelines of the Chhattisgarh Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana, the state government will launch an online portal for online application and scheme information, the information of which has not been shared yet. How to register / apply for the scheme
All the farmers of the category who are planting crops under the scheme will have to fill the information in the application form, register it with the necessary records and declaration form within the prescribed time-limit. The land and crop area mentioned in the application will have to be registered in the cooperative society after verification with the field staff of the Agriculture / Revenue Department.
Only those farmers who get their registration under the scheme within the prescribed time limit will get the benefit of the scheme. The time limit fixed by the state government for registration under Kisan Nyaya Yojana is as follows.
For Kharif crops: 1 June to 30 September (for Kharif) For
sugarcane crop growers: 30 September every year
Farmers growing sugarcane are required to register themselves by September 30 every year in the cooperative sugar factory or departmental portal in their notified area.
The area registered by the Rural Agricultural Extension Officer and Patwari will be verified by Girdawari tax. In case of discrepancy in the registered acreage, the input amount will be paid by assessing the actual acreage sown by the farmer. The provisions of the Agricultural Land Ceiling Act should be taken into consideration while determining eligibility under the scheme.
The farmers who do not have an Aadhaar number will be registered for the scheme by taking action to register Aadhaar of such farmers.
Chhattisgarh Kisan Nyay Yojana – Payment of Input
For the crops covered under the Kisan Nyay Yojana, the exchange amount will be paid through DBT in the farmers’ account in installments at the rate of fixed amount per acre. If the paddy crop was planted last year by the beneficiary farmer and replaces the paddy with other crops included in the scheme this year, then in that case the farmers will be provided additional input support per acre.
The amount of foreign aid to be provided under the scheme will be determined annually by the cabinet committee. If there is an error in the bank account details of the farmers, the Agriculture Deputy Director will get the bank details again from the concerned farmers within 15 days, correcting the error in the portal and proceeding to transfer the amount will be ensured.
